Hypertension caused the death of controversial social media personality Kelvin Samuel.
TMZ reports that the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office discovered Atenolol, a beta-blocker commonly prescribed to treat hypertension, in the body of the deceased. The 57-year-old man’s death was because of natural causes.

According to reports from multiple media outlets, Kevin Samuels’ death has been attributed to a variety of factors.
According to an autopsy obtained by E! News on Monday, the controversial internet personality died on May 5 from hypertension. They considered the cause of death as natural, by WSB-TV, NBC News, and ABC affiliate WSB-TV.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office did not immediately answer PEOPLE’s request for comment.
According to Rolling Stone, Samuels is 56 years old, and the police have already confirmed that he was born in 1965.
Also, a woman he had just met the night before was found slumped over Samuels’ dead body, the Atlanta Police Department said. Authorities attempted life-saving measures, before they declared the star dead.

The mother of the internet sensation, Beverly Samuels-Burch, confirmed her son’s death on May 6th.
NBC News quotes Samuels-Burch as saying she learned of her son’s death on social media when rumours of his death circulated on the internet.
“That was a terrible decision by social media. I knew nothing about it at all, and I was uninformed” she stated. It’s nothing more than a request for prayers on my part.
