Sushmita Sen (born 19 November 1975) is an Indian actress and model who won the 1994 Miss Universe pageant. She is the first Indian person to win Miss Universe. At the age of 18, she has crowned Femina Miss India in 1994.

Sushmita was born into the Bengali family of former Indian Air Force Wing Commander Shubeer Sen and fashion designer and jeweler Subhra Sen. She has two brothers and sisters: Rajeev and Neelam Sen.
