Miki Victoria Sudo was born on July 22, 1985 (36 years old) in New York, United States. She was born to an American mother of European descent and a Japanese father. At age five, she traveled with her family to Japan, where she resided for seven years until returning to the United States. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 


Prior to participating in eating events, Sudo had won a pho-eating contest. In 2014, when she entered Major League Eating for the first time, she was the top female contender. In 2015, she was ranked third.

The 2014 Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest was won by Sudo. She set a record for women by consuming 48.5 hotdogs and buns in 10 minutes. If she had had additional time, she would have consumed more than 48 hot dogs.

Sudo has won numerous competitions, such as the Ribfest Chicago’s RIBMANIA Eating Championship, the Western Days Festival’s World Tamale Eating Championship, and the Foxwoods World Turkey-Eating Championship. She placed third in a deep-fried aubergine eating competition in Stockton, California, and first in a kimchi eating competition in Chicago.

Due to her pregnancy, Sudo declined to compete in the 2021 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. However, she did serve as an ESPN analyst for the event.

Personal Life

Since 2018, Miki Sudo has been in a relationship with competitive eater Nick Wehry. The pair revealed in January 2021 that they were expecting their first child; as a result, Sudo boycotted the 2021 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest but worked as a commentator for ESPN. As of June 2022, Miki Sudo and her fiance, Nick Wehry, are still engaged and preparing for their wedding. On July 8, 2021, her son, Maxwell Samuel Wehry, was born.

  • According to Review-Journal, she pled guilty to a felony for fabricating a fake bomb threat on September 11, 2010, in February 2012. Miki was sentenced to ten months of house arrest.
