Both of his parents are known to be investment bankers. His brother’s name is Charles. His cousin, Lily Scout Kwong, is a model and is related to Kylie Kwong, a television chef, and author.

Joseph began studying dance as a young boy and did so for eight years. In 2000, Joseph relocated to the United States and enrolled at Swarthmore College in Philadelphia. After he graduated in 2004, he moved to New York and tried to get an internship with Marc Jacobs.

After graduating from Swarthmore College, Joseph moved to New York, where he interned at Marc Jobs before joining Proenza Schouler. He returned to Paris to serve as Riccardo Tisci’s first assistant at Givenchy.

Joseph Altuzarra is his spouse’s business partner, and he is the company’s founder and managing partner. Similarly, he founded the real estate investment business, CityShares.

Joseph and Seth have been married for almost seven years as of 2021, with no indications of divorce or separation. The fashion designer and her husband were anticipating their first child on October 15, 2019.
