Career 

In the mid-1990s, he became well-known for his stand-up comedy debut as a regular on the MGM Grand’s “Catch a Rising Star” show. He decided to relocate to California as a result. After performing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Joe hired the Huntridge Theater and went door-to-door selling tickets to his comedy shows. He was invited to appear on BET’s “Comic View” show. After that, he went on to win multiple comedy awards and perform on numerous high-profile tours and programs. 

He has been on “Comic View” twice previously. Several more television stand-up specials were produced after that. Jo has won multiple honors for participating in various VH1 specials, including “I Love the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s” and “Showtime at the Apollo.” Koy has appeared on Adam Carolla’s show numerous times. In the role of a regular roundtable guest on “Chelsea Lately,” he appeared on more than 100 episodes.

On July 23, 2012, Jo began ‘The Michael Yo and Jo Koy Show’ with the support of Michael Yo, a comedian and TV celebrity.

Jo Koy has become a household figure in South Korea thanks to his charitable work. As the creator of The Jo Koy Foundation, he held his first charity event on August 4, 2009. Koy and a variety of special guests performed a stand-up comedy benefit show titled “Hilarity for Charity” to raise money for charity. The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in University City’s Citywalk neighborhood, California, hosted the show. The Children’s Hospital of Orange County received a large donation from the sale of tickets.

Honors and Awards
