Monday, US first lady Jill Biden was mocked by her detractors after she sought to complement Latinos by comparing them to “breakfast tacos.” Biden talked about the “diversity” of the national Hispanic community during her Monday address at the 2022 UnidosUS Annual Conference titled “Siempre Adelante: Our Quest for Equity.”

Biden stated, “Raul helped develop this organization with the knowledge that the variety of this community, as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blooms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio, is your strength.” The news agency also said that she was criticized for mispronouncing the word “bodega” as “bogeda” in her address. People in New York City adore bodegas, which are typically operated by Dominican or Puerto Rican entrepreneurs.
According to US Census data, San Antonio is one of the greatest Latino cities in the United States, with a population of about 1.5 million which is 65 percent Hispanic or Latino. National Association of Hispanic Journalists stated Biden and her speechwriters should “better understand the intricacies of our people” in response to her statement.
