Martin’s House of the Dragon. Alongside Condal, Miguel Sapochnik runs the show. He directed several episodes of Game of Thrones, including the beloved “Battle of the Bastards” episode. Who’s the Creative Team?
As showrunners, Martin, Vince Gerardis, Sara Lee Hess, and Ron Schmidt will executive produce alongside Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal. But don’t expect to see D.B. Weiss and David Benioff listed in the credits; possibly because they’re too busy ruining The Three-Body Problem for Netflix, the original Game of Thrones showrunners have no intention of returning in any way.

What Will ‘House of the Dragon’ Be About?
The idea for House of the Dragon came from George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire and Blood,” which is about the history of House Targaryen.
The fight between King Viserys Targaryen’s heirs, a civil war that later came to be known as the Dance of the Dragons, will be the main focus of the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
The daughter of King Viserys, Rhaenyra, his brother, Daemon, and Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Otto, the King’s Hand, all play significant roles in the narrative.
Daemon was chosen as King Viserys’ successor because he is the sole male relative, but the battle starts when Viserys decides to change his heir.
Just as the Prince is ready to challenge the ruling, Princess Rhaenyra is eager to demonstrate that a woman is deserving of the Iron Throne.
